Optimal Temperature

The automatically extendable ground cooler utilizes the natural coolness of the earth, ensuring stable storage conditions.

The entire cooler structure is placed at a depth of 1.2 – 1.4 meters underground, which, depending on the region and season, provides a temperature of 8° – 16°C, even on hot days.

Temperature alone is not everything. Due to the surrounding soil at this depth acting as a massive thermal buffer, the Chillgarden ground cooler guarantees a lack of sudden temperature fluctuations, which is extremely important for storing items like wine.

How does the temperature vary by month?

Geological studies indicate that at a depth of about 1.4 meters, during the spring months of March to May, the temperature ranges from 3°C to 9°C.

The early summer months have temperatures of about 12°C in June and around 15°C in July. The peak is in August when the temperatures at this depth can reach about 16 – 17°C.

Autumn months see a clear drop in soil temperature. Average temperatures in September are 15°, in October 13°C, and in November 9°C. During the winter, the temperature in the garden fridge will fluctuate from about 2°C to 7°C.

Importantly, the depth at which the lower shelves of the device are placed is below the freezing point, so even if bottles of beverages are left in the cooler over the winter, you don’t have to worry about them freezing.
